I don't know why but I have this epic infatuation with the Russian national anthem, it's just so freaken prideful! Rolling Eyes I have had it on my media player for years and it never gets old, I'm not too big on the history and I was only something like six when the USSR fell.

I guess I could say that I am impressed at the technological legacy they left and at the size of the former country, I guess they kept the world on its toes during the cold war, but to be honest I have little knowledge outside of the basics. I mostly just love their anthem.

As for the original topic, meh, I'm old. Born on July 31st 1984.

Yo, conscript, pretty sure you've seen this a million times before, but just in case: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWTFG3J1CP8

I love tetris so much - haven't played it in ages but I absolutely love tetris. People think I'm weird because I'm good at it. D:

    Also off-topic apostrophe testing.

28th of may. The best part about it was that my birthday was on one the first days of summer holidays.

Vikings just drank mead and porridge and bought wind knots from lapp witches all day long.

The dragons in those stories were a bit more hardcore corpse eating beasts than in more modern stuff. Nidhoggr at least.

If you are interested you could always reads those sagas, although they can feel sloggy if you aren't much familiar with epic poems. I thought of recommending a comic series as a light introduction but there's no English translation.

Thanks for the info, I'm studying Vikings right now and I have an assignment due in 5 weeks. I really want to read up on all the Norse dragons - Nidhoggr being my favourite.

I don't know any good sources in English. Even the EN wiki entry is very puritan and hides all the good stuff about what they thought about men who practiced witchcraft.

Don't remeber much about lindworms and other scandi dragons. Unrelated but you can always read about slavic ones like Zmey Gorynych and zmaj in general. I remember some of that stuff is funny.
